Spending Money?:  Any monies dropped off or sent to a Recovery House resident will be deposited into the student trust account. Each resident must turn in a cash withdrawal form on Monday for monies and checks requested for Friday.  Amounts requested are subject to counseling and approval.   Do not give the resident cash or mail cash.  Make the check payable to the resident and mail to the post office box address P.O. Box 522442, Longwood, FL  32752

 

Phone Privileges?:  Upon arrival a supervised telephone call can be made to let the family know the resident has arrived safely.  After that call there will no telephone calls for the first 30 days.  Emergency calls may be authorized by staff.  No cell phone for 90 days.

 

Visitation?: No visits for the first two Sundays.  Upon approval visits will begin the third Sunday, visitation is from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm.   Visitors are only permitted in the common area, sanctuary, front yard, and front of house areas. 

 

Dropping Off Personal Items & Mailing Packages?:  All items dropped off by family/friends must go through the Administrative Office.  The office address is  1303 W. 13th Street, Sanford, Florida  32771

What is a Working Program:  All residents must be physically to work.  They must be able to lift fifty pounds and stand for extended periods of time.  For the first ninety days the resident will work within the program, in a supervised environment.  During the first ninety days the client will receive no income.

 

Daily Schedule:  The residents daily schedule consists of work, household chores, group and individual counseling, addiction education, AA and NA meetings.

 

Seeking Employment:  A resident may be eligible for outside employment after ninety days.  Once the resident is eligible to look for employment, there are some restrictions.  Any job that could be a possible danger to their will recovery will be rejected.  Jobs such as bars, tattoo parlors etc. are all examples of unacceptable jobs.  Any job paying cash is not permitted without an I-99 tax form.  No resident may start a business or become self-employed while in the program.  Requests will be discussed and evaluated on a case by case basis.

 

Appointments:  Any appointments must be submitted by the resident and approved by staff.  Any lawsuits, unemployment claims, ongoing medical or dental treatment should be disclosed during the application process.

 

Prescription Medication:  All prescription medication must be approved by staff.  A resident must bring a ninety day supply, or the resources to fill the approved medication upon arrival to the program. Intravenous medications are not permitted at Recovery House.   Any controlled substances are not permitted.  These medications include drugs such as Oxycontin, Percocet, Vicodin and any Codeine medication.  Also prohibited are:  Librium, Ativan, Valium and Xanax.  If you have any questions on any medications, please call us 407-323-5857.
