What Makes Us Unique?

RHCF is a faith-based, twelve step therapeutic community. This peer driven model stresses the importance of self-help which implies that each client is not only responsible for his own recovery but also the recovery of his peers. Elements of the one-year program include individual and group counseling, addiction education, relapse prevention, case management, and twelve step recovery groups.  Focus on education, job skills, and vocational training help to develop effective social skills and positive community and family ties that have been eroded by their substance abuse.  The overall goal is to re-establish healthy functioning, behavioral skills, and values as well as increased levels of personal responsibility.  The vocational training teaches new job skills and a renewed work ethic while developing productivity and ongoing self sufficiency.

Each man in the program plays a significant role in the day-to-day operations of the program.  As a therapeutic community, the men build new relationships and depend on each other for accountability, experience, strength, and hope.

Intake Process

Once medical detoxification is completed and the applicant has been cleared of any medical issues the intake process begins with a telephone interview.  The intake interview is conducted to determine eligibility for admission.  See Admission Requirements for details. RHCF is a non-medical facility that provides transitional housing and recovery support services to adult men with substance abuse issues.  The program requires a one year commitment and qualified applicants must have no medical conditions that prevent their ability to work, have no past or present sexual or violent offenses, and are not currently taking prescription medications that are narcotic or administered intravenously.  Upon approval the applicant can be admitted the same day in many cases.  Intake hours are Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.  Contact an Intake Coordinator at (407) 323-5857 to answer questions or to begin the intake process.

Family Support

Recovery House is dedicated to the recovery of men whose lives have become unmanageable due to their addiction to alcohol and drugs.  We understand the problems and the suffering the addict and their families are experiencing due to this devastating disease.  We also understand the solution and offer hope to those who are tired of living in the problem and are willing to follow a simple plan of action to bring about change.

As a family member you are a crucial part of this solution.  Your support of your loved one’s decision to enter Recovery House is vital to his recovery and must be maintained.  Many in recovery, after not using drugs or alcohol for a short period of time, feel their relationship with their family should be fully restored, even though the healing process has just begun. Often the family sees how well their loved one is doing and allows them to return back into the home prematurely.  There are many reasons such as financial strain, needing help to maintain the home, and countless other valid concerns.  Regardless

of how difficult the situation, remember it is important that the family encourage him to complete his commitment to his program of recovery.  This will allow him to build a solid foundation and to acquire all the tools he will need in order to maintain long term sobriety.  Without this foundation and a structured aftercare program the success rate is very low.

Alcoholism and addiction affects everyone in its path.  We offer family members  and loved ones the opportunity to attend family counseling sessions to be an active participant in the healing process. Recovery requires a complete dedication and commitment to working a program of recovery. Family counseling sessions consist of education and group discussion to help answer questions, raise awareness, and help to understand the new journey ahead.  These sessions are a vital part of the recovery process.  Individual  family  counseling sessions may also be scheduled as needed.
